Dr. Tiffanie Tate is a veteran officer of the US Navy, retired OBGYN, author, ordained minister of Universal Life Church, radio show co-host, and proud mom.
Originally from Compton, CA, Dr. Tate became familiar with struggle and resilience. Both of Dr. Tate’s biological parents struggled with drug addiction, which deeply influenced her life. Her maternal aunt raised her from the age of two and instilled in her the importance of giving back. Growing up in Los Angeles, Tiffanie volunteered with her local church to help the homeless. Having never met her biological father, she often wondered whether her father was one of the homeless she and her church were helping.
It was through her volunteer work growing up that Tiffanie knew she wanted to dedicate her life to helping people in a meaningful way. She realized from an early age that, with a love for math, science & service that would mean becoming a physician. Dr. Tate earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a Medical Doctorate degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
She took the road less traveled and became a US Naval officer while in medical school. She completed her internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She went on to serve the fleet as a General Medical Officer at Naval Ambulatory Care Clinic at Port Hueneme with the Seabees. She then received the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and a Letter of Appreciation.
After her time in the navy, Dr. Tate completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She practiced in Tennessee and California for twenty years before she sustained a life altering injury that required her to undergo six surgeries over two years. That did not stop her, she just pivoted and began to write.
She is now the author of four published books and has been changing the world one book at a time. She is currently a co-host on the once weekly NBC morning show “Doctors In The House” every Wednesday from 9am to 10am on AM 1050 / FM 106.5.
Tiffanie is the proud mom of two spectacular children in college—Nathaniel and Mia. She lives in the Inland Empire.
